Physical Education and Health
PE I
This is a required course that provides a
general introduction to physical education. Students will
study the development of physical education from the beginning
of time to the present day. They will also study and
participate in individual and team sports with the end result
being the development of a lifelong fitness plan.
One credit
PE II
This is an elective course which may only be
taken upon completion of Physical Education I. The course
provides a more detailed program of higher level thinking
skills involving the strategy used to participate in a
lifelong fitness plan. The students will begin to develop
their own lifelong fitness plan which includes weight lifting
and aerobic exercise.
Prerequisite: PE I

Health
This is a required course which is only one
semester in length. The students will learn the five
dimensions of wellness and how they relate to each other. They
will evaluate their own health knowledge and behavior and
develop strategies for reducing risk factors.
